The successful candidate will be responsible for data analysis and improvement of our debt purchase strategies. They will implement data led strategic change whilst ensuring the correct controls and oversight are followed. There will be opportunities to work cross functionally to turn your insight into impact.
So, what will your day-to-day look like?
You will work as part of the Analytics team, reporting into the Strategy Analytics Manager and supporting across several areas including but not limited to:
- Data Analysis and Insight: Use SQL to query databases and turn data into actionable insights. Answer ad hoc queries from multiple business areas. Support larger pieces of analysis to identify and effectively communicate the opportunities to improve the performance of strategies, using data to inform decisions.
- Strategy Changes: Analyse current processes and customer touch points and put recommendations forward to improve strategies through optimised placement, strategy flows and communication suites.
- MI and Reporting: Use SQL and Power BI to build your own reports, to analyse the outcome of strategy changes.Comfortable working with stakeholders to refine requirements and independently to leverage our own insight.
- Process Improvements: Identify areas to improvement current processes, leveraging automation to improve the efficiency of the team’s output. Work with the Operations Team, up to Director level, to make things better for our customers as well as more cost effective, ensuring changes are data-led.
- Team Development: Play an active part in your and team-member development by sharing experience and cross skilling across technologies, processes and business areas.
- Governance: Preparing and delivering input into monthly governance meetings around operational performance.
Does this sound like you?
Essential
- Analytical Skills: Data analysis and visualisation skills (Power BI, Tableau, Looker etc.) with the ability to drive insight from complex and disparate datasets.
- Technical Skills: Experience in SQL, Microsoft Excel or other programming languages (i.e. SAS, Python, R etc).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distil complex concepts into clear recommendations and influence action at all levels.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in your work.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues swiftly and professionally, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including operations, legal, and compliance teams.
- Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role potentially within the debt purchase, recovery, or financial services industry.
Desirable
- Experience with working in the debt purchase and recovery sector, specifically with building and enhancing operational processes, through quantitative insight (desirable).

- A final-stage competency-based interview via Teams with the hiring manager (1-hour)
